A Faithful Relationship with God

Prayer of Salvation

Many people that want to have a close, faithful relationship with God believe they have to first clean up their life to be worthy enough to interact with God. According to the Bible, this is simply not the case because no matter what we do - it will never be enough. It's only by God's mercy and grace through faith in His son Jesus Christ that we receive righteousness (Romans 3:22 NIV). If you truly want a relationship with God don't let anything deter you! If you have gone without God in your life, you already know how that feels like; I encourage you now to experience the blessings of love and grace that comes with having a personal relationship with God!
How do we begin a faithful relationship with God? In the Bible Jesus states, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father (God) except through me." (John 14:6 NIV). The first essential step of going through Jesus to have a relationship with God is verbally speaking out loud that "Jesus is Lord" and believing in your heart that God raised His son, Jesus Christ, from the dead; it's with our heart that we believe and are justified (saved), and it's with our mouth that we outwardly demonstrate our faith (Romans 10:9-10 NIV). This act of professing our belief and faith in God and His Son Jesus Christ is what many Christians refer to as being a "Born Again Christian", because we are now in Christ, which makes us a new person, and the old things, such as sin, are no longer counted against us (2 Corinthians 5:17-19 NIV). It is extremely important that we are born again. Jesus says unless we are born again, we cannot see the kingdom of Heaven (John 3:3 NIV). If you have not yet become a born again Christian and want to, here is a prayer of salvation to read out loud while truly believing the words with your heart:

Heavenly Father - I humbly come before you this day and profess that your Son Jesus is Lord. I believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross for me and that you raised Him from the dead. I ask for forgiveness for the sins I've committed in my life and by faith I believe my sins have been forgiven and washed away by the death and resurrection of your Son Jesus Christ. I commit myself to you and I ask that you take charge of my life making me a new person through Christ Jesus and your Holy Spirit. I thank you Father God for loving me so much that you gave your only begotten Son that I, believing in Jesus, will have eternal life in the Kingdom of Heaven with you. Amen
(Romans 10:9-10 NIV; 2 Corinthians 5:17-19 NIV; John 3:16 NIV; 1 John 5:13 NIV)
